Job summary

Jewish Staffing is seeking a part-time teen program mentor to work with middle and high school students on Long Island. You will design engaging activities, mentor teens, and serve as the responsible adult at chapter events, guiding recruitment and retention efforts.

Qualities include being a proactive self-starter with strong written and verbal communication, plus willingness to collaborate with youths and partners.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 3 years removed from high school.
• Must live within or close to Long Island, NY, with the ability to transport self to and from events.
• Active participation at local chapter programs 2-4 times a month.
• Background in BBYO or a similar youth or Jewish organization preferred but not required.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with teens in grades 8-12 to create impactful, fun, and dynamic programming
• Coach teens on recruitment and retention strategies that build chapters beyond membership and engagement goals
• Support teens in building and executing chapter calendars with a consistent, sustainable programming cadence
• Be present at chapter events and meetings, providing guidance, supervision, and mentorship as the adult in the room
• Ensure chapter participation in region-wide initiatives such as Kickoffs, RLTI, and convention, and organization-wide initiatives including BBYO Summer Programs, ILN, and IC
• Track and analyze chapter data, including attendance, engagement, and membership trends, to inform strategy
• Build relationships and maintain communication with members, parents, and community partners
