Job summary

BBYO on Long Island is seeking a Chapter Specialist to empower teen-led programming and strengthen chapter health. You’ll collaborate with teen leaders to design engaging activities, recruit members, and maintain a sustainable event cadence across multiple chapters.

You will join a regional team, participate in monthly professional development, and contribute to BBYO-wide initiatives. Must reside near Long Island and commit to in-person engagement with teens.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 3 years removed from high school.
• Candidate must live within or close to Long Island, NY.
• Active participation at local chapter programs is required (2-4x per month).
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with teens (grades 8-12) to create impactful, fun, and dynamic programming.
• Coach teens on recruitment and retention strategies to grow chapters.
• Support teens in building and executing chapter calendars with a sustainable cadence.
• Be present at chapter events and meetings, providing guidance and mentorship as the adult in the room.
• Ensure chapter participation in region-wide initiatives (Kickoffs, RLTI, convention).
• Ensure chapter participation in BBYO-wide initiatives (Summer Programs, ILN, IC).
• Track and analyze chapter data (attendance, engagement, membership trends) to inform strategy.
• Build relationships with members, parents, and community partners.
• Participate as a member of the regional team to bring innovative ideas and best practices.
• Participate in monthly professional development with fellow Chapter Specialists.
• Other duties as assigned
