Job summary

Town of Fairfield is seeking a part-time Teen Services team member to assist with the downUNDER after-school teen program at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library. You will register participants, assist with crafts and STEM activities, and engage teens in conversations to promote library programs.

The role emphasizes friendly customer service and professionalism while working with students in grades 6-12. Hours are 2:00-5:00 PM or 2:30-5:00 PM on school days, with up to 19.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working with grades 6-12.
• Ability to perform in a courteous and professional manner with excellent customer service skills.
• Display an interest in and knowledge of teen culture and interests.
• Ability to use good judgement and discretion interacting with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, enthusiastic teen patron service.
• Assist in operation of the downUNDER after school teen program, registering participants and helping with crafts and STEM activities.
• Engage teens to promote library activities and a positive library experience.
• Respond professionally to simultaneous demands in a busy library environment.
• Represent the Town of Fairfield Library in a positive and professional manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
