Job summary

Town of Greenwich is seeking an afterschool program assistant to provide childcare, supervise children, and facilitate arts, sports, and reading activities after school in Greenwich, CT.

You will help with homework, join field trips, maintain a safe and engaging environment, and support staff and families. Applicants must be at least 16, available Mon-Fri 3:00–5:30 pm, and consent to CT background checks and a medical examination.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work Monday–Friday from 3:00pm–5:30pm.
• Program runs from September 2026 to June 2027.
• Will be required to complete CT background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Provide childcare to afterschool children.
• Supervise children and facilitate activities.
• Facilitate arts, crafts, sports, and free play.
• Supervise the children at the afterschool program.
• Assist children with homework and reading groups.
• Attend field trips and in-service exhibits with children.
• Ensure a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children.
• Assist with daily tasks and support children.
• Demonstrate positivity and respect to children, staff and parents.
