Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Teen Counselor at the Alpharetta location to organize youth programs, oversee teen clubs, and ensure participant safety under the Youth Development Director.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a High School Diploma, 2–4 years of youth work, CPR/First Aid/BLS or willingness to complete within 30 days, and proficiency in MS Office. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma required; relevant youth-program experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related directly to the position's scope and responsibility.
• Provide leadership and supervision to participants with guidance from the Youth Development Director.
• Instruct lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines with prepared lesson plans.
• Stay updated on current issues regarding programs.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure that all programs run smoothly with high service quality.
• Builds authentic relationships with teen participants and parents/guardians; encourage parent involvement.
