Job summary

Language Services Associates, Inc. is seeking telephonic interpreters to join its network of Independent Contractors. You will handle telephone calls on demand and facilitate language communication for LEP communities while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

The role is open to US and International interpreters who are able to work remotely with a quiet, secure workspace. Prior interpreting experience and certifications are preferred but not mandatory to apply.

Job description

Overview: As a telephonic interpreter for Tedim-Zomi in LSA's network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings. Language Services Associates is continuously accepting qualified interpreters!

Responsibilities

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
• Provide superior customer service
• Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices

Qualifications/Experience

• Full fluency in both English and Tedim-Zomi
• Technology proficient (web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word)
• An interpreting space that is quiet, secure, and free from outside noises
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)
