Journal Technologies, headquartered in Los Angeles, seeks a Chief Technology Officer to lead technology strategy, architecture, product development, and engineering. You’ll partner with executives, translate complex tech into business terms, guide platform modernization, and drive Agile practices while focusing on CJIS compliance and government-grade

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in senior technical leadership.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations and enterprise software platforms.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native design.
• Strong product sense with customer-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to articulate a technical vision and rally leadership around it.
• Experience in government tech or regulated public sector markets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a multi-year technology vision and roadmap aligned with company goals.
• Promote customer-centric product development and understand user needs deeply.
• Identify emerging technologies to strengthen products and open new value areas.
• Advise executives on technology investments and partnership opportunities.

• Support Agile practices and Scrum-at-Scale across teams.
• Translate complex tech concepts into business terms for stakeholders.
