Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an experienced Underwriter to lead a Middle Market Technology book of business from its Dallas, TX hybrid office. You will manage relationships with agents and brokers, apply underwriting guidelines, and drive strategic plans for new and renewal accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• 3+ years of P&C Middle Market or Technology Carrier production underwriting experience is required; E&O underwriting experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions.

As a Middle and Large Commercial Underwriter in the technology sector, you will quarterback the sales and underwriting process by building exceptionally strong and lasting relationships with agents and brokers, ensuring that The Hartford is the carrier of choice. Success in this role will also entail effective account stewardship by managing the sales process from strategic planning to operational excellence and developing cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across the team. Location: This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Dallas, TX office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation: The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $76,400 - $144,600.
