We’re seeking a skilled Life Sciences Underwriter to manage and grow a profitable book of business, focusing exclusively on Property & Casualty lines for the Life Sciences industry, including Products Liability and Excess Liability.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business and identify account rounding opportunities within the Life Sciences sector.
• Manage cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across the team to expand existing accounts.

• Act as a trusted advisor to agency partners, providing guidance and support on Life Sciences risks.
• Partner with other underwriters in the territory to drive results and deepen agency relationships.
• Collaborate with agents to answer coverage questions and direct them to appropriate resources.
• Work with Operations to manage mid-term changes requiring underwriting input.
• Deliver responsive, high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $76,400 - $180,000 The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
