Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals – and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future. Your underwriting career here means collaboration, inclusivity, innovative thinking and so much more. Here, doing things the way they’ve always been done isn’t a part of the job. And you’ll have any number of opportunities for your career to grow in whatever direction you choose. This position will join a growing team of construction insurance professionals responsible for underwriting and marketing of specialty construction professional liability and environmental liability insurance coverages, including Contractor’s Professional Protective Indemnity (CPPI) and Owners Professional Protective Indemnity (OPPI) insurance. Working in a team environment and under the supervision of experienced underwriters, this position will collaborate to underwrite and service accounts, identify key construction agents/brokers, implement sales and marketing activities, and demonstrate a strong customer focus and understanding of Hartford Construction’s appetite and strategy.

Qualifications:
  • 3 + years of relevant commercial insurance experience preferably in Construction Professional Liability underwriting, Environmental Liability underwriting, or Construction Casualty underwriting experience and a Bachelor's degree.
  • Success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations, and propose solutions.
  • High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills.
  • Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win.
  • Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skills.

  • Valid driver’s license as a company pool car may be provided for territory travel.

Can we make our communities more equitable? That we can rise to the challenge of these questions is due in no small part to our company values that our employees have shaped and defined. And while how we contribute looks different for each of us, it’s these values that drive all of us to do more and to do better every day.
