Job summary

The Commercialization and Technology Management Associate at Baylor College of Medicine supports evaluation, protection, marketing, and commercialization of IP from BCM’s research and clinical activities. Working closely with faculty, industry partners, and internal stakeholders, you translate innovations into products improving patient care.

This hybrid Houston-based role provides broad exposure to biomedical innovation and IP management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between BCM faculty, researchers, clinicians, and external partners to support technology commercialization activities.
• Evaluate invention disclosures and conduct market, competitive, and commercial assessments for technologies in diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, software, and artificial intelligence.
• Coordinate patent-related activities with legal counsel, monitor intellectual property deadlines, maintain portfolio records, and support licensing transactions.
• Monitor licensee obligations, royalty reporting, invoicing, and contractual milestones.
• Develop technology marketing materials, identify prospective licensees and industry partners, and support outreach efforts to advance commercialization opportunities for BCM innovations.
• Develop commercialization plans and market-entry strategies for emerging technologies.
• Stay informed on trends and best practices in technology transfer, intellectual property, and healthcare innovation.
• Participate in BCMII initiatives, special projects, and cross-functional activities that advance the commercialization of BCM technologies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
