Job summary

UCSF Innovation Ventures seeks a senior leader to oversee technology licensing within the HealthTech Commercialization team. The Associate Director will define commercialization directions, licensing strategies, and KPI-driven goals across a portfolio of UCSF technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area / equivalent combination of education / experience.
  • Ten (10) or more years of related work experience.
  • Ability to lead a team, set goals and KPIs.
  • Thorough knowledge of intellectual property, university technology transfer, and licensing practices.
  • Ability to market technology to industrial partners.

Responsibilities

  • Defines the direction of commercialization and licensing strategies for UCSF technologies.
  • Lead goal setting for the function and implement KPIs.
  • Oversee license agreements with external counsel and law firms.
  • Drive business development and licensing workflow with external partners.
  • Nurture relationships with faculty inventors and investors to close deals.
