Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, counselors and related service providers on the educational plan.
• Assist in development and implementation of the individual education service plan.
• Instruct students to meet objectives and master grade level standards.
• Teach citizenship and core subjects per state laws and Birmingham policies.
• Coordinate with the teacher of record to align lesson plans to standards.
• Translate lesson plans into engaging learning experiences for students.
• Establish classroom norms and manage behavior to create a productive environment.
• Keep records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with families.
• Supervise student movement and safety throughout the building.
• Administer standardized testing as required.
• Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
