Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with coursework in computer science, business administration or related field plus four years of experience managing a complex computer system.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and training to Sheriff's Office personnel regarding hardware, software, mobile technology, and related systems.
  • Installs, configures, maintains, updates, and troubleshoots computers, software, peripherals, cameras, mobile technology, and other technology equipment.
  • Serves as a liaison between Sheriff's Office personnel and City Information Services (IS) to communicate technology needs, resolve issues, and coordinate support.
  • Researches technical issues, identifies solutions, and escalates problems when appropriate.
  • Assists with technology projects, system upgrades, equipment deployment, and replacement.
  • Maintains technology asset and inventory records, including hardware, software, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Monitors database storage and assists with data management and compliance with agency retention schedules.
  • Provides technical guidance to employees and assists with the proper use and care of technology systems and equipment.
