The purpose of the Eagle Technical Assistance Center (ETAC) is to be the single point of contact for NCCU's faculty, staff and students to assist with the solving of technical issues and direct technical issues to the appropriate area in ITS, if the issue cannot be resolved in the helpdesk
The primary purpose of this position is to provide basic to intermediate level telephone support to clients calling in as well as walk-in clients and also provide intermediate level remote support and troubleshooting for various types of technologies supported by the University's Information Technology Services, with a focus on Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Banner, Apple & Windows Operating Systems; provide information related to ITS support functions including (but not limited to), access to the wireless network, network connectivity, email and system related issues dealing with usernames and passwords.
The successful candidate must possess: Knowledge of a multi technical level Help Desk or Support Center including supporting and utilizing a variety of computer hardware, software and networking; knowledge of a Help Desk operation, which supports greater than 10,000 customers; knowledge of a ticketing system and LMS software; knowledge of a remote desktop software, Microsoft Active Directory Users and Computer, and Microsoft Entra; knowledge of troubleshooting with Active Directory Administrative Tools, Windows Operating Systems, OS X Operating Systems, the Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Adobe Administration, Zoom Administration and Canvas; ability to organize and prioritize work; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills, excellent customer service skills; ability to work under stress; ability to work as a team player and leader; ability to exercise excellent problem management skills; ability to work independently; ability to analyze difficult/complicated situations with careful attention to detail; ability to provide strong proactive and creative problem-solving skills; ability to effectively handle and manage multiple tasks within specific time frames; ability to easily and positively adjust to changing priorities and department processes; ability to manage persons onsite and remotely; ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; ability to manages time and work flow to meet schedules; ability to express ideas and technical subject matter clearly and concisely.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Provide technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to computer systems, NCCU specific as well as office software, and hardware via phone, chat and/or by remote support. Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical computer-related problems.
Ensure an outstanding level of customer services by providing direct IT support to students, faculty, and staff in their university activities. Clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly and professional manner.
Provide information related to ITS supported functions including (but not limited to) access to the wireless network, network connectivity, email and system related issues dealing with usernames and passwords. Provide documentation of all activities.
Research new technologies, provide suggestions for new processes, and identify trends with ETAC issues. Perform other tasks as required by Information Technology Services
