Job summary

Deerfield 109 seeks a Director of Technology to lead the district's technology strategy, governance, and end-to-end project execution, reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.

You will oversee MSPs and vendors, manage the technology budget, and collaborate with departments to align initiatives with instructional goals, while ensuring security and continuity.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible experience in technology leadership and project management.
• Experience leading complex technology projects end‑to‑end.
• Experience with budgeting and vendor management.
• Experience managing MSPs and external technology providers.
• PMP certification or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the District's technology projects and initiatives.
• Oversee governance, policies, standards, prioritization, and change management.
• Lead full project lifecycle from needs identification to post‑implementation evaluation.
• Develop and communicate a comprehensive technology roadmap and budget.
• Monitor projects, budgets, risks, and vendor performance; report to senior leadership.
• Supervise the Coordinator for Technology and coordinate with MSPs and vendors.
• Collaborate with Curriculum and Instruction on technology initiatives for teaching and learning.
