Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) seeks a Technology Services Designer II for our Chapel Hill office to help design energy-efficient building systems and support innovative projects across healthcare, science and technology sectors.

You will translate concepts into detailed layouts, coordinate with users, consultants, and field surveys, and ensure adherence to design standards. AEI offers mentorship and opportunities to grow through high-impact multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in building systems design.
• Understanding of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI, FGI standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate system design concepts into layouts by interpreting basis of design and information from users, consultants, field surveys and code research.
• Coordinate with other consultants and field surveys to ensure accurate, buildable designs.
• Support energy-efficient building solutions and effective integration of technology systems.

As a Technology Services Designer II in our Chapel Hill office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

In this role, you will use prior experience to convert system design concepts into specific layouts by interpreting information set forth in basis of design as well as information gathered from users, other consultants, field surveys and code research.

Expertise of our most successful Technology Services Designer II:

• 2+ years' experience in building systems design -structured cabling, technology systems infrastructure and low voltage electrical systems.
• Understanding of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Interest in helping clients leverage technology and technology systems to address their operational needs and meet their staff and organizational goals.
• Interest in and curiosity about existing and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI, FGI standards.
