Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Chapel Hill is seeking a Mechanical Designer II to translate design concepts into precise layouts, drawing on basis of design, user input, field surveys, and code requirements.

You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to apply codes and advance energy‑efficient building solutions for healthcare, science, and technology sectors, contributing to AEI’s collaborative culture, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or HVAC Design or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in computer aided design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to work with engineering and project management to apply design codes and specification requirements.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will use your experience to convert system design concepts into specific layouts by interpreting information set forth in basis of design as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.
