Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking a Technology Services Designer II to advance energy-efficient building solutions. You will translate concepts into concrete layouts, interpret basis of design, and collaborate across teams to meet client needs.

You will leverage Revit/AutoCAD, coordinate with users and consultants, and apply NEC, TIA, BICSI, and FGI standards to deliver robust, compliant designs for complex facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of building systems design experience including structured cabling and low voltage electrical systems.
• Understanding of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD; willingness to learn additional technologies.
• Knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI, FGI standards.

Responsibilities

As a Technology Services Designer II in our Boston, MA office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

In this role, you will use prior experience to convert system design concepts into specific layouts by interpreting information set forth in basis of design as well as information gathered from users, other consultants, field surveys and code research.

Expertise of our most successful Technology Services Designer:

• 2+ years’ experience in building systems design –structured cabling, technology systems infrastructure and low voltage electrical systems.


• Understanding of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.


• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.


• Interest in helping clients leverage technology and technology systems to address their operational needs and meet their staff and organizational goals.


• Interest in and curiosity about existing and emerging technologies.


• Knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI, FGI standards.
