Job summary

Discord's Internal Audit team seeks an experienced Technology Risk Audit Manager to own IT SOX/ITGC controls, privacy and security domains, and AI-enabled testing. You will partner with Engineering to ensure proper access controls and SDLC governance, and guide risk assessments from design through deployment.

You will build the function from the ground up, learn the financial-reporting systems landscape, and coordinate with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, accounting, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in IT audit, risk management, or controls across financial and consumer-trust domains.
• Deep ITGC fundamentals: access, change, operations, SDLC.
• SOX/ICFR knowledge with risk-based testing design.
• Fluency in COSO, COBIT, and NIST CSF frameworks.
• External-audit coordination with remediation leadership.
• Hands-on AI/automation tools in auditing and ability to explain risk clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT SOX/ITGC strategy and continuous improvement for financial-reporting systems.
• Extend risk and controls into consumer trust domains such as privacy and security.
• Partner with Engineering to ensure access controls, segregation of duties, and CI/CD integrity.
• Guide control design through implementations, migrations, and platform changes.
• Manage teams and projects related to IT controls and audits, incl. external contractors.
• Apply AI/automation tools to improve audit testing efficiency and anomaly detection.
• Track remediation, coordinate with external auditors, and report to senior leadership.
