Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking an intern for its Technology Risk Assurance practice in a Dallas-area setting. You will gain hands-on experience by documenting and testing automated controls, supporting audit reports, and working with IS audit teams.

You will develop relationships with client personnel, conduct interviews for non-complex clients, and participate in walkthroughs of controls while sharpening communication and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems, required
• Pursuing a Masters in Information Systems or other relevant advanced degree, preferred
• Past leadership experience, preferred
• Prior internship or work study experience in information systems and operational auditing, preferred
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Documents and tests application and automated controls across software packages
• Assists in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations for IS audit work
• Participates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
• Develops and maintains relationships with client personnel and management
• Conducts client interviews to obtain information for non-complex clients
• Performs walkthroughs of client controls
• Documents controls, tests performed and results
• Prepares workpapers in the required format
• Applies IS audit principles to non-complex client environments
• Other duties as required
