Job summary

State Street in Massachusetts seeks a Managing Director-level Head of Technology Process Re-Engineering to establish and lead a GTS-focused capability for process mapping, re-engineering, and operational transparency across State Street Global Technology Services.

The role partners with GTS senior leaders and risk partners to define standards, tooling, and governance for process mapping while leading hands-on documentation, analysis, redesign, and embedding improved ways of working across global

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading technology process transformation, process re-engineering, business architecture, operational excellence, tech transformation, or risk-aligned remediation initiatives.
• Senior leadership experience in regulated environments such as financial services.
• Expertise with BPMN, SIPOC, value stream mapping, Lean, Six Sigma, and operating model design.
• Experience building process standards, governance models, repositories, templates, maturity assessments, and executive reporting.
• Strong track record partnering with globally distributed technology teams and influencing senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the GTS technology process mapping approach, including standards, methodology, taxonomy, tooling, and adoption model.
• Build end-to-end views of priority GTS processes, linking activities, roles, systems, controls, and KPIs for transparency.
• Lead a small team of process mapping professionals across two global locations with consistent standards.
• Identify duplication, fragmentation, and control gaps; design future-state processes and practical roadmaps.
• Establish governance routines and executive reporting for process mapping and improvement priorities.
• Engage senior stakeholders to drive alignment on current-state understanding, future-state design, and adoption of redesigned processes.
• Translate complex processes into clear narratives, visual maps, and decision materials for executives.
