Job summary

State Street seeks a seasoned technology executive to lead engineering and delivery for back-office capabilities. The MD, Technology will set the strategy, strengthen engineering disciplines, and drive modernization across a global organization.

You will partner with product, operations, and risk leadership to deliver secure, scalable enterprise solutions, improve client service, and accelerate capabilities that enable growth. Hybrid work with onsite presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 20+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including responsibility for large-scale engineering organizations.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the multi-year technology strategy and roadmap.
• Lead a global organization spanning software engineering, QA, architecture, cloud, DevOps, release management, and production support.
• Partner with Product Management, Operations, Client Services, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, and leadership to deliver strategic technology solutions.
• Drive application modernization, cloud transformation, user experience improvement, automation, and platform simplification.
• Oversee architecture, engineering delivery, production readiness, and lifecycle management across the portfolio.
• Establish and govern engineering standards, secure software development practices, CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, and responsible AI-assisted development.
• Ensure platform availability, resiliency, disaster recovery readiness, and capacity management.
• Remediate technology risks, vulnerabilities, audit findings, control gaps, and regulatory commitments.
• Oversee strategic vendors and delivery partners, including performance, financial management, risk, and accountability for outcomes.
• Develop senior technology leaders, foster accountability, innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Communicate strategy, investment priorities, delivery progress, and risks to executives and governance forums.
