Job Description

Title: Technology Integrationist

Supervisor: Superintendent of Schools

Contract Duration: 12-month, Salaried

Overall Objective:

Under the direction of the Director of Technology, this position drives effective technology utilization across K–12 classrooms by combining Tier 1 technical support with instructional design assistance, staff training, and district-wide communications management.

• Ensure that all staff and students are technologically literate.
• Create a technologically-rich environment for instruction and student learning that is: adaptive, dynamic, digital, student-centered, and authentic.
• Assist the Technology Department in the smooth and efficient operation of technology resources.
• Co-lead strategic communications and marketing initiatives that foster the District's vision and mission.
• Oversees both internal and external messaging for critical school communication.

Essential Functions:

1. 1) Frames technology operations around support of the District’s mission, vision, and goals.
2. 2) Assists in planning the integration of technology within the teaching and learning program.
3. 3) Proposes policies/procedures regarding technology issues.
4. 4) Establishes future directions, strategies and plans for technology goals and objectives, aligned with District goals.
5. 5) Provide teachers with strategies of how technology can be used to achieve Pocahontas Area Community School District goals.
6. 6) Establish an environment encouraging creative and independent use of instructional technology.
7. 7) Encourage student development of skills in the use of instructional technology resources.
8. 8) Models effective use of technology in the classroom and media centers for teachers and students.
9. 9) Troubleshoots district technology devices at classroom level.
10. 10) Facilitates the use of existing and emerging technologies by staff and students.
11. 11) Works cooperatively with the curriculum department, building principals and TLC leaders to evaluate new curriculums and the integration of technology within those curriculums.
12. 12) Assist in collaboration with the Director of Technology in developing, refining and implementing K-12 Technology Curriculum and Standards, including Computer Science and Digital Citizenship.
13. 13) Plans and delivers professional development around technology and provides an ongoing technology professional development vision.
14. 14) Maintains an online repository for Tech Tips, Integration Resources, and Lesson Ideas.
15. 15) Promotes and manages district Learning Management System.(s) (LMS)
16. 16) Co-teaches and enables teachers to use instructional technology on their own.
17. 17) Is informed of latest research, trends, and developments in educational technology.
18. 18) Works with teachers on instructional design.
19. 19) Ensures digital learning opportunities are meeting state compliance.
20. 20) Member of District Leadership Team.
21. 21) Acts as the instructional point person for the technology department.
22. 22) Manages instructional technology budget.
23. 23) In collaboration with the Director of Technology coordinate instructional data with stakeholders.
24. 24) Oversees both internal and external messaging for critical school communication including the district website, app, and social media.
25. 25) Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
