Job summary

The City of Wilmington, NC is seeking an IT professional to analyze business needs, streamline workflows, and deliver technology solutions across departments, including public safety. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or a closely related field with 3 years IT experience.
• Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field with 5 years IT experience.
• High School Diploma with 5–7 years IT experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide city‑wide staff technology support via phone and email across departments, primarily public safety.
• Design and implement technology solutions, establish requirements, timelines and resources.
• Engage vendors for Tier 2/3 support, upgrades, data analysis and user training.
• Maintain application security and technology standards, address security issues and ensure compliance.
• Assist with system configurations, user accounts and device management (e.g., Microsoft 365, Teams, SCM/MDM).
