Job summary

VSEEN in New York seeks a skilled technical developer to lead the creation of customized e-commerce print production portals using the Aleyant Pressero platform. You will bridge client requirements and technical implementation, ensuring seamless integration with our MIS systems.

In this client-facing role, you will gather needs, design portals, build API connections, and provide training and documentation to clients and internal teams while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled technical devloper to join our team and lead the creation of customized e-commerce print production portals using the Aleyant Pressero platform. This client-facing role combines technical expertise with business acumen to create tailored solutions that streamline our clients' print ordering processes. The ideal candidate will serve as the bridge between client requirements and technical implementation, ensuring seamless integration with our existing MIS systems.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Requirements Gathering

• Conduct client discovery sessions to understand business needs, workflows, and technical requirements
• Analyze existing client processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
• Translate complex client requirements into technical specifications and project timelines
• Provide ongoing client support and training on portal functionality
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and project updates

Portal Development & Customization

• Design and build customized e-commerce print production portals using Aleyant Pressero platform
• Configure product catalogs, pricing structures, and ordering workflows specific to client needs
• Implement custom branding, user interfaces, and user experience elements
• Develop and maintain portal templates for different client types and industries

Systems Integration & API Management

• Develop and maintain API connections between Pressero and SmartSoft's PressWise MIS system
• Process and transform data flows between client portals and internal production systems
• Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize data transfer processes
• Implement automated workflows for order processing, job ticketing, and production scheduling
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed

Technical Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Create comprehensive technical documentation for portal configurations and integrations
• Develop testing protocols to ensure portal functionality and data integrity
• Maintain version control and change management processes
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing portals
• Stay current with platform updates and implement new features as appropriate

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Platform Expertise: 2+ years experience with Aleyant Pressero platform configuration and customization
• API Development: Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML data processing, and system integrations
• MIS Systems: Familiarity with SmartSoft PressWise or similar print MIS systems
• Word Press experience: proficiency in building wordpress based sites
• Database Management: Experience with SQL databases and data manipulation
• Programming Languages: Knowledge of PHP, Python, or similar server-side languages

Industry Knowledge

• Print Production: 3+ years experience in digital printing operations, workflows, and terminology
• E-commerce: Understanding of online ordering systems, shopping carts, and payment processing
• Print Specifications: Knowledge of file formats, color management, finishing options, and production constraints
• Project Management: Experience managing multiple client projects simultaneously

Soft Skills

• Client-Facing Experience: Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to configuration and testing

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Technical Experience

• Experience with other print industry platforms (EFI, HP SmartStream, etc.)
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and print file preparation
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices for e-commerce platforms

Industry Experience

• Background in commercial printing, marketing services, or related industry
• Experience with variable data printing and personalization
• Knowledge of print procurement and supply chain management
• Certification in Aleyant Pressero or similar platforms
