Job summary

The City of Richmond’s Department of Information Technology is seeking a Technology Engineer/Administrator to maintain and optimize its database infrastructure. You will perform database administration, troubleshooting, backups, and on-call support while documenting configurations and changes.

You’ll collaborate with IT teams to improve performance, security, and reliability, develop reporting, and ensure production systems meet SLA requirements as part of essential duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in SQL database administration and backups.
• Experience with Oracle DB and UNIX environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL Change Management.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot production databases.
• Perform backups, recovery, and performance tuning.
• Document changes and maintain project records.
• Provide after-hours on-call support for critical systems.
• Ensure uptime and respond to outages per SLA.
