Responsibilities

  • Network & Infrastructure: Oversee and maintain reliable, secure, and efficient wired and wireless networks, internet connectivity, servers, telecommunications, and other technology infrastructure across all district facilities.
  • Device Management: Manage district technology assets, including student and staff computers, Chromebooks, mobile devices, peripherals, and related hardware; coordinate deployment, inventory, replacement, updates, and lifecycle planning.
  • Technical Support: Supervise and coordinate district technology support services, including help desk/ticketing systems, troubleshooting, repairs, and timely response to staff and student technology needs.
  • Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Develop and maintain appropriate cybersecurity practices, access controls, user accounts, domain policies, backups, filtering, monitoring, and other safeguards designed to protect district systems and data.
  • Technology Planning: Assist district administration in developing short- and long-term technology plans, including equipment replacement schedules, infrastructure improvements, budgeting, purchasing, and implementation of new technologies.
  • Systems Administration: Oversee district technology platforms, applications, user accounts, software licensing, integrations, and other technology-related systems.
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned technology personnel and coordinate department responsibilities, priorities, and projects.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Coordinate with technology vendors, service providers, consultants, and other partners; assist with purchasing, bids, contracts, and evaluation of technology products and services.
  • Policies & Compliance: Assist with the development and implementation of district technology procedures, acceptable-use expectations, cybersecurity practices, student data privacy requirements, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Emergency & Operational Support: Provide leadership and technical response when technology issues impact district operations, safety, communications, or instructional services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with administrators and staff to identify technology needs and support effective use of district technology resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.

Position Summary
