Job summary

Fort Scott USD 234 is seeking a qualified Director of Technology to lead the District's technology systems, cybersecurity, devices, and support services. You will collaborate with administrators, staff, and vendors to ensure reliable and secure technology aligned with district needs.

The position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations and requires leadership of staff, budgeting, and strategic planning. Equity and district policies guide technology decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of networks, cybersecurity, and data protection.
• Experience managing technology staff and coordinating projects.
• Familiarity with K-12 educational environment preferred.
• Ability to work with administrators, teachers, staff, students, vendors, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain district networks, internet connectivity, servers, and infrastructure.
• Manage district technology assets, devices, and lifecycle planning.
• Supervise help desk, troubleshooting, and timely staff support.
• Develop and enforce cybersecurity practices, access controls, backups, and data protection.
• Assist with technology planning, budgeting, and procurement.
