Job summary

CMTA is seeking a Technology Designer - Physical Security to join our Chicago team. You will plan, design, and document physical security systems for mission critical and complex facilities, working with access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.

• Participate in site surveys, field verification, and documentation of existing conditions.
• Assist with equipment selection and development of basis-of-design and system requirements.
• Support review of product submittals, RFIs, and other construction administration activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting project schedules and deadlines.

Position Overview

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Technology Designer - Physical Security, to join our growing Technology team in Chicago. This position will support the planning, design, and documentation of physical security systems for a variety of project types, including mission critical, industrial, commercial, and other complex facilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing electronic physical security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems, and will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary design team.

Key Responsibilities

Desired Experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Ability to travel locally for site surveys and project meetings as required.
• Experience with mission critical, industrial, logistics, or large-scale commercial projects is a plus.
• ASIS PSP, CPP, or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.

Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000. This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
