Job summary

Cencora, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Technology Category Management to own technology spend strategies across hardware, software, or services. You will lead category planning, drive cost savings, and coach a global team while partnering with IT and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes negotiation of complex tech contracts, risk management, and leveraging tools like Ariba and Power BI to optimize spend. This is a full-time, on-site position based in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management or procurement, with at least 5 years focused on technology categories; experience in the assigned category required.
• 3+ years of experience leading or coaching team members; cross-geography leadership preferred.
• Demonstrated success negotiating complex, high-value technology contracts and delivering measurable savings.
• Strong understanding of technology commercial models (licensing, subscription, consumption, SOW/T&M/fixed-price, SLAs) and related risk, data privacy and security considerations.
• Advanced analytical skills; proficiency with spend analytics and sourcing tools (Ariba, Power BI, Excel).
• Excellent communication and executive presence; ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience with MA&D sourcing support, healthcare/pharma or regulated industries is a plus.
• Professional certification (CPSM, CPP, ISM or similar) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage category strategies, sourcing plans and pipeline priorities for assigned technology spend.
• Own category productivity (cost savings and cost avoidance) and identify optimization opportunities.
• Lead sourcing events, supplier evaluations, negotiations and award recommendations; guide complex commercial issues.
• Drive delivery of negotiated productivity and ensure terms are adopted by the business.
• Manage supplier performance, contract compliance and issue resolution; lead quarterly business reviews with strategic suppliers.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to align requirements and provide status updates to leadership.
• Manage category budgets, savings tracking, and performance metrics.
• Maintain knowledge of market trends and technologies to inform strategy and negotiation positions.
• Support MA&D due diligence, synergy identification and post-transaction integration/separation.
• Lead process improvements and standardization across the category; update policies and playbooks.
• Oversee team performance across onshore and offshore locations; coach and develop talent.
• Bridge procurement with scalable AI deployment to drive efficiency and cost-out strategies.
