Job summary

Triple Crown is seeking a Technology Applications Manager to lead the strategy, governance, and delivery of the technology application portfolio. You will own vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and successful execution of application initiatives across the organization.

This role provides leadership to the Project Coordinator, ensuring cross-functional collaboration, prioritized projects, and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years leading technology or business application projects.
  • 5+ years managing technology vendors, contracts and renewals.
  • Experience mentoring PMO or technology coordination teams.
  • Understanding of business applications, SaaS platforms, and enterprise ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to develop business cases and prioritize initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in staffing, recruiting, or professional services is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Project Coordinator with accountability and growth opportunities.
  • Set priorities and workload across active projects; coordinate across applications.
  • Maintain documentation, timelines, and status reporting throughout lifecycles.
  • Evaluate existing applications and recommend enhancements or replacements.
  • Lead implementation of new business applications and major system enhancements.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand needs and build business cases.
  • Establish project priorities and a roadmap aligning with strategy.
  • Own vendor relationships; manage planning, negotiations, and licensing.
  • Lead vendor evaluations, pricing discussions, and renewals.
  • Monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Research emerging technologies and make strategic recommendations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Technology Applications Manager
Role Overview:

The Technology Applications Manager leads the strategy, governance, and delivery of Triple Crown's technology application portfolio. This role owns vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and the successful execution of technology and business application initiatives across the organization. The Technology Applications Manager also provides leadership and direction to the Project Coordinator, ensuring effective project execution, cross‑functional collaboration, and organizational alignment.

This position is responsible for application portfolio oversight, vendor management, and technology project delivery. The role provides technical leadership and strategic guidance for business applications, establishes project priorities, and ensures solutions align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Project Coordinator, providing direction, accountability, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Set priorities and workload across active projects, resolving escalations that require cross‑application or cross‑department coordination.
  • Ensure projects maintain adequate documentation, timelines, and status reporting throughout their lifecycle.
Business Application Strategy & Portfolio Management
  • Evaluate existing applications and recommend enhancements, replacements, or new solutions based on business needs, scalability, user adoption, and return on investment.
  • Lead the implementation of new business applications and major system enhancements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand operational needs, prioritize technology initiatives, and develop business cases for new investments.
  • Establish technology project priorities and maintain a roadmap that aligns application investments with organizational strategy.
  • Own relationships with business application vendors, serving as the primary point of contact for strategic planning, issue resolution, and ongoing partnership management.
  • Lead vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, pricing discussions, renewals, and licensing strategies to maximize value and control costs.
  • Monitor vendor performance against established service levels and contractual commitments, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and vendors, making recommendations that support long‑term business objectives.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 8+ years of experience leading technology or business application projects, including enterprise software implementations and cross‑functional initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technology vendors, including contract negotiations, renewals, licensing, and vendor performance management.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing project coordination, PMO, or technology coordination teams.
  • General understanding of business applications, SaaS platforms, and enterprise technology ecosystems, with the ability to evaluate technical solutions from both business and operational perspectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, prioritize competing initiatives, and manage a portfolio of technology projects.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience working with technology implementations in staffing, recruiting, professional services, or similarly fast‑paced organizations preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
