Job summary

GEICO seeks a Technology, AI and Innovation Attorney – Assistant General Counsel/Director to join the Law, Policy and Compliance team. You will advise on technology and AI initiatives, working with product, compliance, and business teams across the company.

The role focuses on regulatory risk, governance, and policy development for AI systems, platforms, and innovations, in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• JD required and admitted to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience with 5+ years in technology/AI matters.
• Understanding of US federal/state laws impacting technology, digitalization, AI, and data protection.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., NAIC, EU AI Act, NIST).
• Ability to partner across Legal, Compliance, Technology, and Business teams.

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal/regulatory considerations across the technology product and AI lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal clients to develop and monitor AI initiatives, products, services, and processes.
• Identify and mitigate legal/regulatory risks related to AI, privacy, data use, and consumer protection.
• Develop and implement technology-related policies, procedures, and training.
• Advise on GEICO’s AI governance framework.
• Provide practical solutions for risk across sales, underwriting, marketing, tech, and operations.
• Monitor changes in technology/AI regulation and advise on impact and advocacy.
