The Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is seeking an experienced, mission‑driven Manager to lead the development and delivery of training programs that enable Senate staff to understand and effectively use the available tools, systems, and operational processes essential to their roles. This is a unique opportunity to shape how staff learn to navigate and leverage the tools, technologies, and processes that help offices operate effectively and efficiently.

This role will build and manage a comprehensive operational training portfolio, oversee a team of technical instructors, and develop scalable learning solutions that help offices operate smoothly, efficiently, and consistently. This includes live workshops, digital learning, practical guides, and process‑focused training resources.

The person in this position will need a builder’s mindset, strong project management and leadership skills, and the ability to convert complex or evolving technologies into accessible, practical learning experiences that can meet the evolving demands of an institution with national significance and impact. You will partner with stakeholders across Senate offices, committees, and support organizations to identify needs, anticipate changes, and adapt programming to meet the evolving demands of the Senate environment. Strong candidates will bring experience designing and scaling programs in dynamic settings, along with the ability to translate technical or procedural complexity into clear, actionable guidance. The ideal candidate also has a demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to emerging technologies and operational shifts, ensuring training programs remain relevant, forward‑looking, and resilient in a rapidly changing environment. For someone motivated to help the nation’s leaders operate more effectively, this role offers both challenge and impact.

  • Coordinates training initiatives to ensure alignment with emerging technologies, system updates, and operational changes, enabling staff to adapt effectively to evolving tools and workplace requirements.
  • Evaluates and improves training programs and instructional materials by incorporating participant feedback, operational insights, and performance data to maintain relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with the Senate’s needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
