Position Overview

XRTech – Part Time – Joliet – Radiology

Compensation

Base pay range: $28.84 – $38.90 per hour. Pay determined by experience, education, certifications, location, and internal equity. Shift differentials, bonuses, and incentives may be available.

Hours and Travel

• Varied schedule: Monday 8:00 am‑12:30 pm (Joliet), Wednesday 9:00 am‑5:30 pm (Joliet), Thursday 9:00 am‑9:00 pm (Lockport). Weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs (x‑rays) under directions of a Radiologist.
• Position patients on the examining table and adjust immobilization devices for optimal imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Move x‑ray equipment, adjust exposure factors such as time and distance, and maintain equipment controls.
• Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Obtain pertinent patient history.
• Maintain crash cart and supply inventory.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Assist with film quality control and perform related departmental duties.
• Work evenings and holidays, taking responsibility for department operation.
• Report to lead technologist for work assignments and assist manager in expediting patient workflow.
• Demonstrate teamwork, acceptance of constructive criticism, and adherence to work rules.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two‑year college or technical school, or 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be AART‑registered or eligible as well as IDNS‑licensed.
• CPR certification.

Experience

• 6 months – 2 years of related experience.
