Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate CT and X‑ray equipment, following physician orders and hospital protocols. You will perform procedures, maintain equipment, and support patient care across the Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit under supervision.

The role requires completion of an ARRT-accredited radiography program, BLS certification within 14 days of hire, and ability to work according to established safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience obtained through completion of a Radiology Technology Program.
  • Completion of a formal radiography education program accredited by an ARRT-acceptable mechanism.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of radiologic principles/theory; ability to select appropriate techniques and positioning.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as requested by a licensed physician.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
  • Develops an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
  • Implements plan utilizing hospital protocols/guidelines.
  • Completes documentation to comply with hospital policies.
  • Maintains equipment and work areas in a safe condition for patient safety.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and collects quality data.
  • Provides basic bedside care and support in Emergency Department and Inpatient Units under supervision.
  • Assists with patient stabilization and life support measures with the care team.
  • Monitors patient condition and reports concerns; initiates actions within scope.
  • Collects laboratory samples and performs lab testing per CLIA regulations.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform quality controls and routine maintenance.
  • Prepares patient meals per physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Supports patient registration functions as needed.
  • Contributes to best-in-class patient experience during downtime.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Overview
Job Summary

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Routinely works in CT and X-Ray specialties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
  • Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
  • Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
  • Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
  • Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
  • Completes assigned goals.
  • Provides basic bedside care and support in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Unit under the supervision of the RN or physician, anticipating and responding to patient needs.
  • Assists with patient stabilization and life support measures in collaboration with the care team, following appropriate admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
  • Monitors for changes in patient condition, report concerns, and initiates appropriate actions within scope
  • Collects laboratory samples and performs lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform laboratory quality controls and assessments and routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function according to laboratory policy and procedure.
  • Prepares patient meals in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Supports patient registration functions as needed.
  • Supports a best-in-class patient experience by utilizing downtime as productively as possible.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Specifications

Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Education

Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

Special Skills

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.

Licensure

ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.
