Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate radiology equipment and perform routine diagnostic procedures, aiding physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities include selecting proper settings, following protocols, documenting actions, and maintaining equipment and rooms to ensure safety and quality care. A radiography program and ARRT registration are required, with BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a radiography program accredited for ARRT.
• ARRT(R) registration in Radiography or pending new graduate awaiting registry.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire; state license as required.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians.
• Exhibits sound judgment in selecting and setting controls for each patient.
• Develops and follows a procedure/treatment plan per hospital protocols.
• Implements treatment plans using established hospital guidelines.
• Completes required documentation to ensure policy compliance.
• Maintains equipment, rooms, and work areas in a neat, safe condition for patient and staff safety.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and collects quality data.
• Completes assigned goals and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Specifications

Experience

• Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Education

• Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.

Special Skills

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.

Licensure

• ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire. State license as required.
