Job Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance, repair, and inspection of hospital systems and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
• Adhere to all maintenance and repair work practices, quality standards, and policies related to building structure and plant equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successfully pass WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal training beyond high school (technical school, apprenticeship, or college).

Experience:

• Two (2) years of experience in building maintenance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Knowledge and use of hand tools and power tools used in building maintenance.
• Ability to use measuring devices and test equipment for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform repairs related to drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general building repairs.
• Follow safety practices and proper handling of maintenance chemicals.
• Respond to trouble calls and assist with preventive maintenance.
• Understand operation and maintenance of hospital systems such as fire alarm, plumbing, nurse call, electrical distribution, and patient care equipment.
• Participate in training and provide on-the-job training for technician assistants.
• Contribute to cost reduction goals and promote efficient work practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and work on ladders for extended periods.
• Lift and carry weights ranging from 1-60+ pounds as needed.

Work Environment:

• Work may involve exposure to temperature extremes, heights, vibrations, and hazardous materials.
• Use of protective gear and safety precautions is required.
• Complete vision screening for near and far vision (20/40 or better).

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of computer maintenance management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
