Position Summary

You do not have to have previous instrument repair experience to be considered. This is an entry level job - we will train you!

  • Perform surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a field-based setting, working out of mobile repair trucks at Customer sites and regional labs.
  • Deliver superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards.
  • Undergo a 7-year driving record check as part of onboarding.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% (overnight travel).

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Oklahoma.

What You Will Do As A Repair Technician
  • Perform repairs of surgical instruments, including ultrasonic function, metallurgy, buff and polish, bending, shaping, sharpening, hinge points, serrations, and brazing.
  • Demonstrate quality performance in advanced tasks like Dremel operation, re-cup and re-jaw, laparoscopic inspection.
  • Provide invoicing and documentation as needed.
  • Work mainly inside a mobile repair truck, with trips inside hospitals.
  • Support various locations within the territory based on service agreements and customer needs.
  • Follow all safety, health policies, and procedures, using PPE and completing safety observations.
  • Comply with protocols for the safe operation of mobile labs, including DOT policies.
The Experience, Skills And Abilities Needed
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience or 2+ years of work experience, verifiable.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push carts from 10-150 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule with early/late hours, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Minimum age of 21, with ability to meet FMCSA and driver’s license requirements.
  • Pass DOT medical/physical exam and comply with DOT regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; vaccines required.
  • Technical or mechanical certifications, military experience, or related training may be considered.

Relevant work experience includes: hands-on repair, assembly, product testing, small tool use, small engine repair, electronics, carpentry, circuit boards, maintenance, automotive repair, etc.
