Job summary

Group 1 Automotive in Newport Beach is seeking entry-level Automotive Technicians to join our Newport Lexus service team. You will receive paid manufacturer training and mentorship as you learn hands-on diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Toyota vehicles.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections.

• Maintain accurate repair documentation.

We are looking for motivated Entry Level Automotive Technicians who are eager to learn, build their skills. Whether you've recently graduated from an automotive program, have hands‑on mechanical experience, or simply have a strong passion for working on vehicles, we'll provide the training, mentorship, and career path to help you succeed.

Responsibilities

As an Entry Level Technician, you'll work alongside experienced professionals while developing your skills performing:

• Routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid services
• Multi‑point vehicle inspections
• Brake inspections and basic brake service
• Tire installation, balancing, and repairs
• Battery testing and replacement
• Vehicle diagnostics using Toyota factory equipment (as training progresses)
• Maintaining accurate repair documentation
• Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Working as part of a collaborative, high‑performing service team
• Delivering quality workmanship that exceeds customer expectations

Qualifications

• Passion for the automotive industry and a desire to build a long‑term career
• Previous automotive experience, trade school education, or personal mechanical experience is a plus—but not required
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
