Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a Sleep Technician to perform basic polysomnographic testing and related interventions under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. The role may verify insurance and enter patient information into the HBO system, with overtime and callback as required.

The position reports to the Director of Sleep Center and involves ensuring high quality diagnostic testing while adhering to established standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• 1 year post-secondary education completed.
• 6 months to 1 year of direct patient contact.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and orient patients to the sleep center.
• Follow procedural protocols to ensure safety.
• Implement interventions necessary for patient safety.
• Complete and verify documentation for scoring/interpretation.
• Maintain high quality diagnostic/therapeutic testing per standards.

Experience

Minimum Required

• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
