• Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.

Job description

Perform basic polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of the clinical director or medical director. May verify insurance, enter patient admission information into the HBO system. May provide supervision of other staff. Subject to overtime and callback as required. Reports to the Director of the Sleep Center. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
• Oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Follow procedural protocols.
• Demonstrate the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy.
• Complete assigned goals.

Must Meet These Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state‑licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician AND Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician or equivalent.

Preferred

• Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state‑licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician AND Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician or equivalent.

Special Skills

Licensure

• BRPT; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
