Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician to perform basic polysomnographic testing under the direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. You may verify insurance and enter patient information into the HBO system.

Overtime and callbacks may be required; reports to the Director of Sleep Center and collaborates with sleep staff. This role contributes to high quality diagnostic testing in accordance with published standards.

Qualifications

• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and orients patients to the sleep center.
• Follows procedural protocols.
• Implements appropriate interventions necessary for patient safety.
• Completes/verifies documentation to facilitate scoring/interpretation.
• Performs duties necessary to ensure high quality diagnostic/therapeutic testing in accordance with accepted published standards.
• Completes assigned goals.
