Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Mississippi seeks a PSG II Technician to perform basic polysomnographic testing and related interventions under the Sleep Center director's supervision.

The role includes coordinating patient data, verifying information, and adhering to lab protocols; overtime and callback may be required. BRPT certification progress supported and supervision of staff possible.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible in Sleep and must challenge the BRPT Exam of hire/transfer to be eligible to remain in the PSG II job classification.
• Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration with required competencies and BRPT certification.

• Oversees and performs difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.

Overview

Performs basic polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of the clinical director or medical director. May verify insurance, enters patient admission information into the HBO system. May provide supervision of other staff. Subject to overtime and callback as required. Reports to the Director of the Sleep Center. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible in Sleep and must challenge the BRPT Exam of hire/transfer to be eligible to remain in the PSG II job classification. If the candidate has previous sleep experience and is eligible to take the exam upon hire, he/she must challenge the next available exam date and and pass the exam to remain a PSG II Technician.

Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician AND Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
