Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team on the Day shift. You will accurately measure and record vital signs, draw blood, and support the nursing team to keep patients safe and comfortable.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for meals, assisting with routine environmental care, and collaborating with registered nurses to Put Patients First. This role requires a high school diploma, phlebotomy training, and BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Experience as Nurse's Aide or equivalent required.
• High school diploma plus completion of an approved phlebotomy program and BCLS certification.
• Energetic, approachable individuals with a patient-first attitude.

• Report abnormal findings and assist nursing team; provide reassurance to patients.

Patient Care Technician - HAH - Full Time - Days

Accurately measure and record patient vital signs including body temperature, pulse respiration, and blood pressure. Report abnormal findings, put patients at ease and be the eyes and ears of our award-winning nursing team. Prepares patients for meals and assists as necessary. Routine environmental care (e.g., linen changes, surface cleaning, and room tidying) provided intermittently throughout the day as needed. Collaborate with a team of nurses to earn your reputation every day and Put Patients First.

The shift times are 8:00am to 830pm, 3 shifts per week. Weekend and Holiday requirement .

Required Criteria

• Qualified candidates must have experience as a Nurse's Aide or an equivalent role.
• A high school diploma is required, along with completion of an approved phlebotomy program and a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
