Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Baytown, TX is seeking an Industrial Services Technician to respond to spill incidents, perform chemical transloading, and manage hazardous materials cleaning and decontamination.

The role requires physical fitness, a valid driver’s license, and 5+ years in hydro blasting and tank cleaning. You’ll work with a team delivering industrial cleaning, emergency response, and equipment maintenance with opportunities for on-call travel and growth within a national environmental

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection as required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 5+ years of hydro blasting and tank cleaning experience.
• Ability to fulfill on-call requirements and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency spill incidents involving rail, roadway, and fixed facilities.
• Perform chemical transloading between tank cars, trucks, frac tanks, vacuum boxes, and tanks.
• Conduct chemical neutralization, decontamination, and remediation for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Perform confined space entry work including tank, sewer, and pipe cleaning.
• Complete industrial cleaning services such as hydro blasting, hydro excavation, and high-pressure cleaning.
• Assist air movers and vacuum truck operators during cleaning, ventilation, and recovery operations.
• Handle drums and bulk containers containing chemicals.
• Inspect and maintain vacuum boxes, open-top boxes, and frac tanks.
• Inspect, service, and prepare emergency response and cleaning equipment.
• Complete and maintain required documentation for emergency response activities.

• Assist air mover and vacuum truck operators during cleaning, ventilation, and recovery operations

• Clean, inspect, and maintain vacuum boxes, open-top boxes, and frac tanks
• Inspect, service, and prepare emergency response and industrial cleaning equipment
• Complete and maintain required documentation for emergency response and cleaning activities

What's Required

• Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection from time to time as required.
• Valid Driver's License
• 5+ years experience in a position relating to hydro blasting and tank cleaning
• Ability to fulfill on-call requirements and travel on occasion.
