Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an industrial technician in Kalamazoo, Michigan to safely perform field labor across our core service lines.

The role involves site preparation, potential power washing, digging and confined spaces, with training provided for handling hazardous materials. Applicants should be comfortable outdoors in all weather, able to wear protective equipment, and prepared for long hours and physically demanding tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare sites; may include power washing/hydro blasting, digging, sweeping, entering confined spaces, and removal of hazardous waste with proper training.
• Identify hazards observed to ensure safety of personnel and equipment.
• Properly wear, use and maintain PPE on HAZWOPER sites; uniforms and PPE provided.
• Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Work may involve extreme conditions such as heat, cold, height, chemicals, loud noises, or long hours.
• May perform other duties as assigned by site superintendent or management.
