Job Summary
The Technician II – Security position will provide efficient and high‑quality installations related to commercial integrated security systems on a mission‑critical data‑center project in Amarillo, TX. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing startup, installation, closeout and service of jobs; assisting in design and other tasks as assigned while delivering on Bosch Building Technologies commitments.
Responsibilities
- Installs, terminates and tests equipment as per specifications and in conjunction with any pertaining building and/or electrical codes.
- Responsible for training apprentices on company procedures, systems, and installation techniques.
- Work with project managers, field engineers, and lead technicians on startup to ensure complete system compliance.
- Daily communications with installation supervisor on delays, requirements, and general status of jobs to ensure delivery of the project.
- Work with installation supervisor to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client and service department.
- Repair, restore and test all systems per specifications and in conjunction with any pertaining building and/or electrical codes.
- Accurate written record keeping, submitted on time and complete.
- Maintain professional licensing as required by state and local jurisdictions.
- Work at required heights utilizing ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other equipment.
- Work in confined spaces as necessary.
- Shift work may be required as needed (significant overtime).
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment screening.
- Minimum 1 year working in the security systems integration space.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics, evidenced by 1 year of experience.
- Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite, evidenced by 1 year of experience.
- Aptitude for learning system programming, evidenced by 1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree (2 year) in a technical capacity.
- 3+ years working in the security systems integration space in commercial settings.
- Proper hand and power tool operations and safety.
- Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.
- Ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
- Ability to function as an effective team member.
- Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
- Limited Energy Journey Technician Certificate.
Additional Information
- Working Hours: This critical project will include a work schedule consisting of a 6/6/5: 2 weeks of 6‑10 hour days (Mon‑Sat) and then one week of 5‑10 hour days (Mon‑Fri); overtime will be expected with the possibility of a 4th week off.
