JOB SUMMARY The Histology Tech II performs technical procedures in Histology, including specimen embedding, microtomy, staining, and ancillary tasks. Serves as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team. Responsible for quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of laboratory functions. Actively troubleshoots and resolves problems and documents corrective actions with minimal guidance. Ensures compliance with all state, CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations as applicable and incorporates these compliance practices into daily routines. Actively participates in laboratory programs established to maintain/improve the quality of laboratory services, individual growth, and safety in the work environment.
1 year experience working in a Histology Laboratory Required
