Qualifications

• ASCP Histology Technician certification is required.
• ASCP Histology Technologist certification is preferred.
• 1 year of histology laboratory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs tissue embedding and microtomy with accurate sectioning.
• Prepares and runs immunohistochemistry (IHC) and special stains; maintains quality controls.
• Embeds tissue with correct orientation; assists with recuts and additional stains as requested by Pathologist.
• Maintains and troubleshoots lab instruments; documents actions and outcomes.
• Mentors new staff and trainees; supports daily laboratory operations.
